Florida State University’s online graduate programs are among the best in the nation, according to the 2025 U.S. News & World Report rankings released on Tuesday.
Four of FSU’s online graduate programs are ranked within the Top 20 nationally, with two programs securing positions within the Top 10.
- The School of Information’s online Master of Science in Information Technology program maintained its position within the Top 10 for the sixth consecutive year, securing a No. 8 ranking overall, a No. 6 ranking among public universities and a No. 5 ranking for veterans.
- The College of Criminology and Criminal Justice’s online graduate program placed No. 10 overall, No. 6 among public universities and No. 7 for veterans.
- The non-MBA graduate programs in the College of Business — specifically the online master’s degrees in management information systems (MS-MIS) and risk management and insurance (MS-RMI) — climbed six spots to No. 12, with a No. 8 ranking among public universities. The college’s online MBA program ranks No. 20 nationally, maintaining the No. 16 spot among public universities. In addition, the college’s online MBA specialty in marketing, taught by faculty members in the Dr. Persis E. Rockwood School of Marketing, ranks No. 8 among public schools and No. 12 overall. The college also was recognized as No. 8 in the nation for veterans for its MS-MIS and MS-RMI programs and No. 15 in the nation for its online MBA program.
- The online master’s program in engineering at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, the only joint college of engineering in the nation that is shared by Florida State and Florida A&M universities, continued to move up in the U.S. News rankings, jumping 10 places to No. 39 nationally and seven spots to No. 31 among public universities. The program also ranked No. 26 among the best for veterans.
- The Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences’ online master’s program in education placed No. 46 nationally and No. 41 among public universities. Three of the college’s specialty programs are ranked among the Top 10 overall: instructional systems and learning technologies at No. 3; special education at No. 5; and curriculum and instruction program at No. 7. The educational leadership and administration program ranked No. 15.
